Technically, a manmade relic. Someone had trashed it, but Riko found it and decided to carry it as a shield. A grade 3 artifact, charcoal sand, was made into bars and attached to the top of an umbrella, making it look somewhat like shingles on a roof. It was put together poorly, resulting in the grade being lowered. The umbrella possesses the strong but lightweight properties of the charcoal sand its made out of.
Riko brought the Scale Umbrella with her on her journey, but it was destroyed in the fourth layer while Reg was fighting Tamaugachi, whose needles pierced through it easily.
